Wrecked Lambos

Last week we talked to Gregg Carlson, who started Wrecked Exotics. I asked him a bunch of serious questions for our feature, but then sent him a few slightly less serious follow up questions. You see, John and I have a running discussion about the merits of Lamborghinis. I think they’re basically stupid, overpriced kit cars, whereas John kind of likes them. I was hoping Gregg could help us sort this out.

1. Which is more likely to break down or catch on fire? Ferrari or Lamborghini? From what I’ve seen, Lambos are more likely to both break down AND catch fire.

2. Which is more likely to be driven by someone with more money than brains? Ferrari or Lamborghini? They’re both about the same.

3. Which is more like a kit car in terms of quality? Ferrari or Lamborghini? Can’t really answer that since I’ve never driven or ridden in a Lamborghini.

4. Which is more likely to be driven by a novice driver and shoot off the road at a high rate off speed? Ferrari or Lamborghini? I’ve heard of several reports of Lamborghinis suddenly veering off the road and crashing, so I’d say Lambos.

5. If you flip a car with gullwing doors, how do you get out? I know that Lamborghini provided a way for the driver to release the doors in the event of a rollover, meaning that the doors just fall off.  That was back when they made the Countach, not sure if this still applies to the newer models or if it applies to other manufacturers.

6. Is Audi making any money off this Lambo venture? How soon before it gets sold off to the next group of "investors"? I haven’t followed the business side of things, so couldn’t tell ya.
