THAT EXACT THING HAPPENED TO MY 03 WRX!!!! i just replaced the whole motor but it happend 7000k out of warrantee i was soooooo pissed!

I did the same thing in my 98 Suzuki Esteem.. Not sure where the rpms ended up at.. But every morning gotta let her 'warm up'. When cold she rattles like crazy..After the temp gauge starts to move it goes away.. Still runs great ,no smoke or comsumption. But what a pisser..

Don't ya just hate those mis-shifts...

Yeah, I've never spun a bearin, but come pretty close. That is a lot of damage for one misshift... gotta be careful there, especially test driving a car...

Ive spun Subaru berings before, twice in EJ22s, both motors went in the same 92 Subaru Legacy. Its not hard to do over time, Ie drive the hell out of it. But it just shows how indestructable Subarus really are, most cars would have had a valve or a rod failure almost instantly after the bering supn.
