Top Overall Ride
Posted by: Rob Editor-in-Chief |
It’s fun to see what cycles through the Top Overall spot on our site. Here’s a recent ride from the top spot, a 1979 Scout. I love these trucks. My buddy Brian keeps saying he’s gonna get a Scout. I don’t know what he’s waiting for. And I really wish Detroit would build something like this again. Ford showed off a cool Bronco concept a few years ago but I haven’t heard anything about it since.

Those trucks are simply masterful. A friend had one in high school. No lift a slow thumoing 304, a granny gear so low you couldn’t walk slow enough next it. 33 inch tires fit the truck with full suspension movement and NO LIFT. and when it siad to be 3400 lbs, after breaking a beaver dam with one I believed it to be that heavy. Of course that has its downfalls, but not often enough to gripe about. there is alot of things detroit doesn’t make, nad it had been quite bizarre for may years now.
