Camaro vs. Mustang on PIPES

This Saturday on PIPES (12:30ET on ESPN2) it’s Team Yank’s 2002 Camaro vs Team Venom’s 1999 Mustang.

Team Yank set of a baseline of 11.93 in the quarter before spending $1,500 on gear including underdrive pullies, lower control arms, Mickey Thompson drag slicks and a Crane power tuner. Team Venom set a baseline quarter of 11.84 in the quarter before adding $1,500 worth of mods including a Mac Performance cold air intake, BBK X-pipe and throttle body, and SLP Loud Mouth exhaust.

So who will pick up the most time from their mods and make it to the Round 2? And how much time will they pick up? Post your guess before the show airs with a link to your ride page. We’ll send some PIPES swag to the CarDomain member with the best guess.

team venom went at it all wrong he just bought items he was going to end up buying with him own money anyways, if i went on ide buy a nos kit with 200 shot and m/t street tires

i think the camaro will win. i think it will shave 2 seconds off its time.

and i think that the mustang will knock off somewhere between 1.5 and 2 seconds. i want to say more like 1.8. lets see if i’m right

Im going with Team Yank’s Camaro. With a new set of drag slicks, control arms and some tuning they should be able to get better traction and stronger 60 foot times giving them the advantage.

Camaro picks up 1 second, Mustang picks up .8 second. Camaro wins race and moves on.

I’m going to say the Team Venom ’99 Mustang will pick up the most time running about 10.78 in the quarter mile.

I think it is going to be team venom, I think they are going to pick up 1 second, with there mods.

I’m going to say Team Venom will win…i’ve never actually seen the show (no cable), but i get the general idea, and it seems that Team Venom will win to me….at least thats my guess
