The Valentine 1 is indeed one of the best Detectors out there. Recent updates include Pop radar and Laser. (Recent in the last 5 years) I regularly see traps at 1.5-2.5 miles ahead of their viewing range. But, at $400, many people don’t want to put forth that expense at once. I’ve found it to be worth it. When you have enough warning to shave 50 mph off your speed and hit the legal speeds before the cop even knows you’re there, the V1 pays itself off. On Laser though, no detector gives you much time. You may get enough warning to shave 5-10 off with the V1, which is more than most, but Laser is just too short duration and too direct for much warning.

Http://www.navalert.com is the solution for speed traps and fixed cameras – the 9500i has been reported to have all typs of problems with locking out real radar : ( and has no way to update the unit with speed trap data.

From what I’ve the Valentine 1 is the best radar detector compared to anything, hands down. Anyone have any experience with it?

Thats definitely nice. I only wish that I had one when I got clocked doing 159 while passing a transport

I got let off with a lowered speeding ticket, but this detector might have saved me
