Still Holding My Breath!

OH SNAP! Things are looking up for me and my next car/motorcycle/toy. When I first spied the VW Concept GX3, I fell in love with it instantly. The quirky design falls somewhere between a car and a motorcycle, but it’ll be officially classified as a bike. This bad-boy goes from 0-60 in under 5.7 seconds, gets an estimated 46 mpg, and features a 1.6L VW motor with 125 hp and 112.5 lb-ft of torque—all for the killer price of $17,000. And the best part? Since it’s classified as a motorcycle, I’d be able to cruise the HOV lanes in Washington!
Due to legal and safety concerns from the American branch, VW decided to shelve the idea, and I was crushed. But now a small company called Defiant Motors wants to resurrect this beautiful concept and make it a reality, with the help of VW. Today, I received this email from Defiant: I am happy to announce that we have been impressed with the overall response to our project and have now gotten in contact with VW. We have heard back from multiple people at VW who had a hand in the GX3 design and, just recently, one of the people who would have a direct say in whether this goes forward. While we have not yet reached a formal agreement, this at least means that VW is willing to consider our proposal. Now we are merely waiting for VW to get back to us with specifics. That’s all for now, we’ll be keeping everyone updated as things progress. Aaron Mady Great news if I ever heard it! Click on the pic to see the original press release of this amazing car! |

No, that must have been a different car. This has never been marked with that high a number. Until the press release, this car was pretty much unknown. I honestly couldn’t even imagine 700hp in something this small… But it would be fun for the short time i was alive!
