Toyota Powered Pontiac

The guys over at Hemmings have the scoop on this Supra-powered Lemans. It’s funny that a guy in Germany would think to put a Japanese motor in an American car.

Hi! I too want will share the reasons in occasion of Toyota car.
The first car was toyota corolla, volume of the engine 1.5, good car, but very weak engine.
Car economy class. Car toyota camry, volume of the engine of 2.0 litres. Excellent car,
but it would be desirable even more powerfully! Now I go on car toyota Surf, the engine diesel!
That is necessary for me! 1KZ! COOL!

The Supra motor is a good motor definately. But nothing like American muscle to go with american steel. Other than to be different I do not see the purpose of this project.

Wow! I hope they take the pontiac down the hill outside of Tokyo for a drifting challenge. i saw this a couple years ago on the third installment of “the Fast and the Furious” and it killed any chance for a fourth movie.. Maybe this will mark the end of Toyota ;-P

comparing this to the vibe or matrix? Hardly a comparison there. This is quite a few decades older.
The car won’t look right under the hood. It won’t sound right going down the road. Sure, I guess it’ll move along but that powerplant with this? Apples & Oranges.
Stick to the Big ol’ American GM V8. Plant the toyo block in something much more appropriate.

Alot of photos in the link. I never saw the insides of the supras six. Pairs of two. Inlines suck. 4,6,8,200 cylinders, who cares. they just simply suck. I thought it was toyota tundra truck v8 with injection and doodads, but no. What a dud.
