Do you really think promoting this guy is a good thing?
I thought this site was a little more sensible than that, maybe it was to increase the hit rate for car domain.

I agree with matt. there were alot of good drifts. i didnt think a volvo could burn out like that! i have a 83 camaro myself and ive drifted like that a few times but when it was dry. i dont think ill ever make a video about it though lol. the guy can drift though. kudos for that!

What a bunch of haters. Some of those drifts were pretty long and one of the links up to the store was nice. I always enjoy seeing a shitty car going sideways. It’s funny how everyone on the interent thinks they can drift, especially the guy with the Cavalier that posted earlier.

Lots of harsh words and bad grammer here. Drifting is a blast! SO DON’T BITCH! Do it with what you have. Not the best idea in trafic, but I did it with my old Eclipse GSX ( usually in the snow ). But the video uses too much of the same footage to make it longer. Rock the drift!

The amount of traffic is a continuing concern, as this is not a stunt that should be done near any unaware bystanders.
Considering the amount of traffic and the blind areas, I’m guessing he had a couple of spotters – perhaps the cameraman gave him the go.
(I really like the segment where he skids toward the gas tanker.)
Many of these skids are just that – poorly executed drifting.
On the other hand, there is one segment in the parking lot that he actually uses the counter weight of the vehicle to successfully navigate the islands. This is INCREDIBLY difficult and is usually the sign of a world-class drifter that is very familiar with their vehicle.
Considering the relatively low power to weight ratio, assuming standard setup, the driver does have some skill and is well versed in the workings of this vehicle.
Nice vid. Keep it off the busy highways. Get a more consistent ride that is not an automatic.

Gay. Look up the 740 turbo that drifts. He competes and can keep a drift going until about 50-60 mph. Music is a little better too. haha

As mentioned, front-wheel drive drifting is the stuff of dreamers. You got weight and drive in the front, the rear is just along for the ride. Even all wheel drive… good luck. Real drifting is reserved for front and mid-engine with rear wheel drive. Drifting on dry ground needs a good horsepower-to-weight ratio and you better stock up on tires.

As I see it, even if it were an impressive stunt, which it is not, the car makes him look like a loser driving like a nut.

Oh, and talent? Nothing special at all. Anyone who took or was given enough opportunity to practice drifting (with enough space, away from traffic) can learn. In all, there are probably thousands of better examples of drifting that could be found on the net.

Wow…I dont think the guys who are bashing this guy really know what its like to do that. I drive a FWD maxima, and its hard to get sideways, even in the wet. When you do, its not easy to control. Rain drifting is a lot harder than dry. Oil paatches, parts of smooth road, etc…cause the car to be more unpredictable vs dry pavement.

Sure, courses are harder, but the parking lot shows more of his skill. He’s got it, no doubt about it. Oh, and yes, there are better drifters, Millen for example, but this guy’s got it down.

Oh, and for ‘doing it dry’, the car doesnt have the power to do that. At its age, it probably puts out sub-200hp, and being so heavy, I doubt it could pull off dry drifts like that.

So for you bashers, you go try that. Its a heck of a lot harder than you think. Kudos man, its fun but just be careful.
