Back from the Grave: Tulsarama

So Tulsa’s buried Belvedere turned out to be rusted wreck. But for car nuts, there was plenty more to do  than just pine over it. Locals—the ones who were alive, anyway—have had 50 years to prepare for the public exhumation, and the festivities didn’t disappoint. We’ve got hundreds of shots from over the weekend, including tons of Mopars that have fared quite a bit better than the heap below, and full coverage of the Mid-America Ford Meet. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

LOL Jerry…. that would be like Barret-Jackson in Bizarro World. Auctioning off a vintage car in the worst possible condition for top dollar..

Looking at it disturbs me. Kinda like seeing the venereal disease photos from sex education way back in high school. Mr. Belvedere should have been better sheathed, for sure.

The attempt at keeping it restored and good from original 50s photos are no doubt an embarassment. I found a fifty year old air force car, primer gray in color (like an old airplane) standing on end after falling through a barn floor with a ceiling collapsed full of road salt dust (the barn was right next to the road) and the condition was unbelievable, hangin right out there where everything could destroy it.chrome shinin and all. Its as if the capsule they made was a destroyer more than a keeper, kinda like all american autos in a way… like the look, I wonder if they can clear coat it. ;o)
