Total Pipe Dream: One "Tuned" Lada

There are a lot of awesome car sites out there, but nobodyrepeat, nobodyrivals English Russia in the "wonderfully demented" department. I mean, stuff like this, or this, surfaces regularly enough that it’s not even worth commenting on, but look at this poor Lada! Are those exhaust pipes or missile tubes? I don’t know, and I don’t imagine the guy who installed them knows either. I guess this is what’s to be expected when bottles of vodka cost .50 cents.

I wince when a car’s Y-pipe is apparent. Seeing a freaking header, manifold, plenum, whatever the heck that is just makes the car look absurd. I wonder if there’s a muffler somewhere in that exhaust complex. the welding must be horrible since it’s apparent in low resolution.

If you want a good laugh at more of this kind of thing, check out beaterz.com – it’s an old site, hasn’t been updated in a long time but it had already had reached a point of saturation. Aside from some really funny pictures, there are captions and one-liners to describe these gems.

There is a car in there with a tail pipe that’s about 10 inches in diamater. This car reminded of of that site. Worth seeing.

Is that a “1500L” label on the back? inline at 1500 is enough to drive me insane trying to get a normal power as well. I wonder how it does… it seems synonymous with 20 lb turbos on hopeless designs. I want the tough lada body as an experiment for an old boxer…
