Chevy Caprice: ‘70-76

By David

AKA Highspeedhijinks

Because of a new focus on safety and emissions, the ‘70s began a new era for the Caprice. Though the first signs of a gas crunch were starting to emerge, with their 121 inch wheelbase, these were the largest Caprices to date. ‘71 saw the introduction of the convertible, and disc brakes became standard that same year. Unfortunately, evil, power-sapping Catalytic converters reared their heads in ‘75. Since then, most of these cars have been turned into donks, like pabloG’s and playboy006’s. But if you like to feel the wind in your hair, Raggiddy has a pretty sweet looking drop top, and if you’re looking for something more traditional, check out  bones76’s ride—he kept things stock. Tune in tomorrow, when I’ll be highlighting  cars from ‘77 to ‘90!

not to mention the hopeless chemistry for the cylinders firing. I hope they all got modernized to newer engine materials beyond the obvious convertor problems. High compression, new build. Get those old eye-watering engines out …paranoia that went with them has been dunced for quite awhile now. Would love a big old chevy again with good engines.
