Are You Stoked About Van Halen?

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

I went to high school in the 80s, and I swear every Camaro at my school had a big VH sticker in the back window. So are you guys stoked that Van Halen is getting back together to tour with David Lee Roth? I know David is (his Camaro is pictured below). Check out the list of best driving songs on his ride page.

I don’t know. I really don’t. I am in awe of Eddie’s playing and always will be but there are other good players out there. Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Frank Marino, Rik Emmitt, even the guitarist for Ratt (Warren DeMartini I think) deserves a second look. Eddie’s chops are really sharp and I admit I suck on the guitar after kidding myself for years that I was good. He just doesn’t have that appeal anymore. In other words, I AM GETTING OLD! Ha Ha Ha. I hope it turns out okay for the group though. But Wolfgang on bass? I sense a train wreck here! I still hope it turns out alright. Most groups today suck so bad compared to an older and more tired Van Halen. I just can’t stand the crap that is on the radio nowadays. I even caught myself grooving to old DISCO tunes the other day! I have said too much…hope it turns out okay. I won’t get tickets though…

Too funny…isn’t this a Van Halen post? Brian…Rob was actually giving the Camaro props. Can’t wait to see DLR again. Seen them a couple times and while he’s more of a studio singer, he still puts on a great show….”reach down, between my legs….ease the seat back…”

Message to RealRock and Keith it is spelled Nirvana. Furthermore Keith rock did not go down until years after Kurt Cobain died and all of the B.S. pretty boys tried to copy his style.

If you are a real fan of rock, like you say you are then you can appreciate great bands from all eras. Cut your mullets and get with the times.

For what its worth I cannot wait to see Van Halen with David Lee. I think its a total money grab, but if they put on a good show, then I am cool with it. Do wish Michael Anthony would be there though.

Brian, you thought I was putting the Camaro down? I like the crapdomain idea, though. Wonder if that domain name is taken…

WOW…Mark….buddy….You REALLY need to use your spell check before submitting something to this page. Trying to insult someone’s post with terms like “Saught” (It’s spelled SOUGHT) and “Oversees” (I assume you meant OVERSEAS)really takes the punch out of your lame ass attempt to put someone else down. Also, who gives a rats ass if SOME of our cars are made in Mexico. That had nothing to do with his post…..get a clue and get a real car….you probably drive a tricked out 1990 Toyota Celica….wooo hooo…

Gee Brian, it’s sad that you think only “real cars” come from the US. We make some nice cars true, but the first car was invented by Mercedes Benz, and some of the most treasured cars are built in Italy. Some of the most saught after cars and innovative, fastest from concept to market are the Japanese. Most of your US cars are made in Mexico, so I don’t know what you’re point is. In Fact GM has almost a larger operation oversees. But I bet your Chevy Silverado is just fantastic.
Get a clue, then post.

you guys at car domain are a bunch of clowns , you put down cars that are submitted on your website, you dont have a clue from a real car (us) to a japanese piece of shit , god only knows how such a weak website would still be around, i guess your viewers dont know about other real sites , you should change your name to crapdomain thats more your style !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll go – but grudgingly. Without MA = NOT VanHalen. I’ve seen them several times with Dave back in the day – they were great, except the 1983 US fest where they sounded drunk. I left early that night! Truth is though – they don’t give a rats as$ about their fans. That’s a fact. DLR is an AS$ and so are the brothers. The only ones who have any class are no longer in VH. I’ve been a fan of theirs since the first album but no longer. Their absence at the RRHOF spoke volumes to me. What a mess that was. I’m still in awe of Eddie’s guitar playing gift however and need to see him play one last time. The way he trashes himself… it just might be the last time!

A true VH fan would be totally psyched about the tour!

Eddie looks totally fantastic after rehab!

I am hoping to score awesome tickets, on Eddie’s side of the stage, of course!

that is cool. I remember being influenced by older kids, as if they were the last of long haired hippies. I bought “jump” when I was 11 yrs old. It seemed that whole crowd disappeared quickly, I associate it with who cares and suicides. I hope my mind changes someday about that time frame. Maybe I was too young to see the brilliant entertainment behind it all. I still got some mp3s, the sound is no doubt classic van halen, one of a kind.good stuff. The grandaddy of alot of music!

I don’t like it when knuckleheads talk about their “dad’s music”. VH ain’t Bad Co. homie. You can go back and listen to your Justin Timberlake CDs now.
VH was the beginning of the Real Rock-in your face-Loud and Proud-Guitar riffs from hell-we’ll give you a show to remember era. It never ended, you just got old or unfortunately had to grow up with Nervana and Daultry and poser bands like knickleback and slipknot. mercy.
If you were born after 1986 you probably have no idea what a lead guitar solo is. Let us introduce to you Edward Van Halen. and in case you forgot how it’s done, let us introduce to you David Lee Roth.
now sit down, be very quiet and hold on to your girlfriend pal. We’re gonna ruin you for every other band you’ll ever hear. : )~

I’m not that excited because i don’t really like it when older groups try to get back together. I don’t like it because my dad has dvds of bands of his time who regrouped and they don’t sound as good as they were when they were in their prime. Bands like Bad co. and The Rolling Stones just don’t sound right…:\
