Beautiful Karmann Ghia EV

By Jen

Cliff bought this Karmann Ghia as a terminal basket case on eBay a few years back and retooled it as an electric vehicle by installing a 96v traction motor. His resto work is amazing–check out the before and after pics of the interior, especially. The Ghia’s original 40 horsepower took a bit of a hit from the EV conversion, but it’s still fun to drive and the fact that Cliff no longer has to pay for gas probably sweetens the deal quite a bit too. Nice work, man!  This Ghia should totally be added to our new Green Machine rating category

This is EXCELLENT. Kudos to CarDomain for putting the spotlight on this, and much respect to the modifier of this car.

Heyseus Eric.

Anyways, Nice Ghia. What a restoration. I can’t imagine spending all that time and effort; it’s fantastic.
