New Smyrna Beach

We have a monthly cruise night in nearby New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and my wife and I usually take our Mini because it’s the most classic thing that we have. At the last minute we decided to go check out the show this past Saturday, but we took the Miata. I didn’t have any time to go over the Mini, and there’s been rain in the area (I’m still paranoid about the Mini rusting away).
When we got there, I slowly crept up to the "doorman." Can we come in with this? I asked. He smiled and waved me in. They even handed us a dash plaque. While getting out of the car a Miata owner came up with some questions, and another Miata owner stopped us as we left. Guess we were in good company. It’s nice to see a love of cars so universal where age and country of origin aren’t so important.

This past Saturday was actually their 11th anniversary. I know that because they celebrated with cake.

For as long as I can remember, there has been a cruise in down there! For some odd reason, I’ve never been to it. Maybe I’ll have to stop on by this coming month.
