Turbonique

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

This barn fresh turbine-powered Cougar was on display at Lancaster Speedway this weekend. The turbine is genuine Turbonique–you can read more about Turbonique here. If you have any info on this cool old Cougar, get in touch with the new owner. Want one? Order the tech manual and build your own!

Turbonique?!? Just read about it. AMAZING find. Clearly a collector’s item first-class. Better not run it down the track or history will be lost.

The torque is mind-numbing for that era. Would have loved to see the bug run in the 9’s.

This car is definitly a product of the 60’s and the link to the turbing powered go cart…. product of N.A.S.A. Holy Hell they dont have any quarter mile times but I bet that thing could be a 10 second or better KART.
