Road Rage or Mortal Panic? Driver Plunges Into Zombie Mob

I’m completely stoked about the 3rd-annual Vancouver Zombie Walk: next Saturday, the downtown of my favorite breezy, costal Canadian city will be innundated by several hundred shambling, cannibalistic ghouls.  But it might not be the safest place to be, and not just for your brains.  Last year, a driver whose car got mobbed by Zombie Walk participants freaked out and hit the gas, barging through the crowd.  Results could have been very messy, and although surviving zombies were indignant, no one was seriously hurt.  What baffles me is that anyone was surprised that this happened.  I mean, if a horde of bloody, moaning zombies was pawing at your car, what would you do?  While mowing down pedestrians is never a smart move, it’s pretty obvious why something like this might happen in the heat of the moment.  For this year’s walk, I’m hoping that drivers find another way home and zombies keep their stinking meat-hooks to themselves.
