Killer Amp. Killer Deal.

By Juan

When Rockford Fosgate announced a line of amplifiers to commemorate their 25th anniversary, I suspected that the Power 1000 would be the most popular of the lot. That didn’t turn out to be the case用robably due to the $1500 sticker price. So they gave us a smoking deal to get these out of their warehouse, and while supplies last, we’re passing those savings on to you! While rated at 50×4 and 300×1預ccording to the birth sheet which comes in the package葉his beast actually puts out more than twice those numbers. At $599.99, that seems like a steal!

it depends, not all cars are race cars. Wanting a nice home theater sound system in your car, or just more bass doesnt mean your going deaf by forty. That would be like saying adding nice exhaust or a turbo charger will make you die by thirty because of an auto accident. Putting exhaust and a turbo on most vehicles won’t make them race cars, just cars with extra stuff. It all about what you into.

If I want my car sounding better, I’ll add $600 into a nice exhaust set-up. I don’t need an over-powered stereo system to impress anyone.
If that’s your thing, cool, go deaf by the time you’re 40.
I’ve seen way too many cars with A/V systems that cost more than TWO cars and crap under the hood. Unless you roll-up with at least 1 turbo or supercharger, you ain’t $#!t.

Fosgate is the only brand I roll with… From P2 Punch series, to HX2 Power tens, a fifteen inch Power HX2, to two HX2 Power Twelves with a Power T1000. MTX? Only if you are putting in close to a grand per sub, otherwise you are wasting your time. Kickers are ok, but if you want true air flow and decibels, you got to go with JL, Fosgate, or Alpine.

Jose the best equipment can sound like ass if not installed/setup properly. what kind of vehicle was it in, how did you have the subs wired, what kind of box was used? What kind of charging system do you have in place for a 6000 watt amp?

Also, you do know that the Massive Audio 3000.1 amp is rated at 6000watts max. Which means you need lightning to strike it, because it is fused at 200amps. voltage x amperage = power 200 x 14.4= 2880 watts
(that is a good estimate/idea of what kind of power your amp will do)

and that means your under powering the subs.

You can buy a Fosgate 2000.1 fused at 250amps that will do more power, and a 3000.1 fused at 300amps that will also do more power.

there are other things that play a factor such as efficency, voltage, and the amp its self.

Matt Duree you must not know anything about high end car amps, I have a punch 75 25-life, 37.5 watts x2 at 4 ohms, tested 214×2 at 4 ohms, 45×2 at 2 ohms, tested 319×2 at 2ohms, total at 2ohms 2094 watts, not to shabby for $500 and it was only made for 1 year and you get a tshirt that you have to buy the amp to get.

Fosgate has gone back to under rating their amps by a lot. Look at some of the power series amps and what they are fused at like the power 3002 rated at 300×1 and is fused at 80 amps. More then like 800watts plus. The 5001D rated at 500×1 fused at 100amps, with 1/0 gauge terminals more then likly 1000watts plus on amps rated at half the power.

look at some of the manuals on RFs website and youll see.

Yeah, now I know why they didn’t sell these amps. Who is going to buy an amp that only runs 50 watts by four channels for $1500?? Thats just down right bad marketing. In my opinion, even at 100 watts by four still isn’t anything out of the ordinary. Funny how they call it a power 1000. Its not even close to that, unless they allow you to bridge it, if so, it may not be stable.

Check out the Rockford Fosgate forum in the next 3 weeks, and my install will be up there with this amp, 2 pairs of components, and a T212D2 with a 3Sixty.2
In the near future I’ll be adding two more sets of components in the front doors, again off of this amp. I’ll update my ride page on that one too..
No picture does the chrome on that amp justice!

Sounds like an amp you could run a whole system around with no problem! I’d love to see one of these things installed…
