No Bugatti Veyron? Build Your Own

By Jen

…If you’re a super-smart computer geek, that is. The techs at the CG site 3DM3 claim that building virtual cars is much easier than it looks, but as a layperson I can’t help but goggle at the detail and precision of these rides. The site seems pretty heavy on automotive content, with lots of amazing cars along with "tutorials" on how to replicate them.  Don’t forget to check out their especially impressive 2005 design competition to create lavishly souped-up tuners for the video game 3D Street Race: I almost think I’d take this red tuner Trabant over the Veyron!

Can you believe it's not a photograph?

The grill is the worst of the design. the Tom ‘n Jerry mouse doorway shape is just ridiculous.

The rest of the car, well I could get used to it I guess.

at 3d-community.com, two CG artists come to mind. “analog” and “Adit1001″

They both do amazing re-creations of cars in 3D. Adit1001 is more established at the site and has created dozens of works that rated 10 out of 10 in feedback from other CG artists.

I’m a CG artist as well, but have focused on architecture and city scapes under the moniker “cadavatar”.
