Great Scott! DeLorean to Fly Again

By Evan

AKA NWSilverado

Made famous by the Back to the Future film series, the DeLorean is set to come alive once again. DeLorean Motor Co. in Texas, which bought up the bulk of DeLorean parts after the original company went under, will be churning out brand-spanking-new time machines at a rate of about two per month beginning in 2008.  For a little under $60,000 US, this gull-winged, stainless-steel-paneled 80s icon can be yours.  The new DeLorean will retain the original’s silhouette and many of its features, though it will likely be updated with modern amenities such as air bags and ABS.  Get the full story from Detroit News.

i hhav an original delorean, and will be driving it rarely when i turn 16 :( but i like it and its kool. the downside is, you need more than enough money to buy the car. it breaks down sometimes and is expensive to repair. but its worth having such a kool car.

That poor Delorean. It looks like a Puerto Rican body shop got a hold of it. I wonder if its going to come stock with ground effects, glass packs, and a Blaupunkt bass tube.

Me and a friend bought an original DL from a garage for about 500 Bucks, he wasnt sure if it ran so we towed it home and went to work on the motor, all it needed was a starter motor and it was golden. We have put some work into the suspension and now my buddy autox’s it. Wish I had been the one to pay the 500 for it and keep it with me…:(

Sorry… I won’t be on the list.

I don’t drive anything that my magnetic bullet holes won’t stick to.

I wonder how many people are going to sign up for the wait list for one of these things?

i actually have a flux capacitor somewhere buried in my basement, so even if its not an option i can buy the car and it will be compatable (since it doesnt wire up to my honda, mostly cuz my honda doesnt go 88 mph:)
My grandpa used to have one of these and it got so many looks when he opened it up… i still stare today

I would love to do that to my car doors it rocks my socks, some one come let me know where it can b done in Toronto aarea

If it came with the “Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor” then I’d get one.

I hear that at 88 mph, it won’t register on radar. All the cop will see is flaming tire tracks and a license plate spinning in the road.

uh oh.

Better use a fictitious plate…
