There's More Than One Way to Kill a Bug

By John

While this video is interesting to watch, it still pains me to see a perfectly serviceable Bug tossed into a shredder just for the fun of it. I absolutely love these little cars, and I’m sorry to see this one meet such a terrible end. Even if it had an awful paint job.

The Bug was stripped. Their wasn’t a motor, and the pan was trash. plus it was a 74 super. I’m a big aircooled VW fan, but eh, kind of amazing it took so long to crush.

If they did a VW bus that would take forever. Start in the morning come back at night it might be done. lol

Thanks Tyler, at least no gaskets means spared parts! Herbie still would have freaked though. Next they should shred a hippie van.

That shit is funny, but you could have at least strip the car first

What a shame to do that with this car ! it’s a mythic car, furthermore, the car was working.
The guys who did it are idiots. It’s a shame.

“…Look at all these little things. So busy now. Notice how each one is useful. What a lovely ballet ensues so full of form and color. Now, think about all those people that created them. Technicians, engineers, hundreds of people who’ll be able to feed their children tonight so those children can grow up big and strong and have little teeny weeny children of their own, and so on and so forth. Thus, adding to the great chain… of life.”

I’ve seen those SSI videos where they shred almost anything and I have to say, for a busted old Bug, that shredder sure had a hard time finishing the thing off!
