You Heard it Here First: the iCar

Right now, everyone is reporting on the latest iCar rumors, and we think that’s great. It’s an exciting story, and though VW and Apple are neither confirming or denying the prospect of getting in bed together, everyone here at CarDomain HQ hopes they eventually make beautiful music. But in the rush to inform their readership, all the major organizations have somehow forgotten that little old CarDomain broke this story. Like six months ago. Remember? Sure, we didn’t have all the specifics—they weren’t available at the time. But it’s OK, we’re used to our content getting jacked without credit, and lots of publications have done it. Being on top ain’t always easy.

Continuing the trend of wild Cupertino-related rumors, while simultaneously bringing to mind an old joke about Microsoft and GM, a German magazine is claiming that Apple and Volkswagen have entered into discussions over a concept vehicle to be dubbed — you guessed it — the iCar. If you believe what they say, the two companies are in the early stages of planning for an entire line of new VWs that would incorporate Apple-sourced designs and features. Given that we’ve seen the firms collaborate in the past, this isn’t too far out there — though we wouldn’t go wagering on this rumor, either. As you can see below, the Engadget gang chimed in

Well, since it’s a Mac, it’s very unlikely that it would crash. Wouldn’t that mean lower quotes from eSurance? Or is it iSurance?

All this signifies is the coming of the end. When computer companies start making cars that means there going to have an OS. When they have an OS there capable of having AI. Personally I hope its all a load of BS so that I can get on with my life.

I’m giving serious thought to changing my name to iTed soon, before the government requires this from all of us.
