Next-Gen Hybrid: the Chevy Tantrum!
By John
Community Editor
If you’re fed up with high gas prices, and you’re prone to road rage, maybe you should explore driving an anger-powered vehicle! In this article from the Onion, General Motors vice-chairman Robert A. Lutz, states that these next-gen hybrids function "by drawing a significant percentage of their motive power from the unbridled temper of the American motorist," and said the company plans "to have these furiously efficient machines careening down America’s highways, byways, and sidewalks within two years." Looks like a solution to the energy crisis is just around the corner! In all seriousness, if GM was making cars that looked anywhere near as evil as the Tantrum, I don’t think they’d be able to keep them on the lot. What do you think? Would you buy one?

If I am not mistaken, tim, Chevy has a wedge style engine while the original “HEMI” 426 engine does, in fact, have a hemispherical engine. The new Chysler vehicles do NOT have the hemispherical combustion chamber. But don’t quote me on that.

First you cannot have red front lights it isn’t street legal. Second that is a Toyota with a weak looking front bumper on it. Probably see a little kid driving it around like it was a lego toy, which is exactly what it looks like. It also looks like it is backwards aside from the unrealistic lighting. Show cars can have red lighting etc., but are not allowed to drive freely in the streets. They should call it “CRYBABY” or big wussy. Tantrums are for children, not grown adults, you would have to find someone immature enough to like it in the first place. And then watch everyone who hates the crybaby at work to scratch the crap out of it. Just being realistic, not evil. This car sucks balls.

Why would a Chevy have a hemi?
alot of cars have hemispherical headed chambers, Chrysler just owns the term hemi so a company like ford or chevy can’t say our engine has a hemi, they have to say hemispherical engine

I’ve always said the ones that sell easily look mean. Not always the case, though. Look at the Camry… well not too long or you’ll fall asleep. Look at the Miata… a freaking squeak toy (ok, sorry. I know one of you CD staff members is has an unhealthy attraction to them). Look at Saturns! Can you explain why anyone bought them? OK, I owned two, but I’m still wondering why I did that… TWICE.

Yeah, this is a mean looking hybrid. I wonder how it runs. I wonder if it’s just another hybrid with the rube goldberg 2-propulsion scenario or if it is actually intended to be an ADVANCED hybrid with all-electric drive, leaving the gas for generating power only.

Someday, if it makes it to market and they are decent in every way other than the apparent looks, yeah. I’d drive one, probably.

Red headlights? Or is the rear? I’d buy one once it figures out which way it is going…
Is it related to the Honda Fit? What’s next? The Dodge Conniption? The Acura Spasm? Running out of names, are we?

Remember the tank from the nintendo game Blaster Master? I’d definitely get one of these if a gun turret is optional. lol
