nothing like the beach to clean out the engine.. the salt air is magic for them.

I had about 1-1/2 gallons of used motor oil spill completely once, in the back of my ’88 Cherokee Limited – just after restoration was complete. I had accumulated the oil, because I did my own changes. The vessel some of the oil was in tipped and the oversized cap opened.

Since then, I never did my own oil change again, although the last one I got at NTB cost $70 for Mobil 1. Never been there before nor will again. If it cost that much everywhere I’d rather clean up the trunk of my car occasionally.

My weekend, as every other is, was extended to include Monday.

I washed the ’05 Caddy STS I’ve been trying to sell for a friend AGAIN. The prospective buyer who was supposed to show up never did, and when that became apparent he didn’t return his phone calls. Just for laughs I’ll call him from my wife’s cell phone. What a damn loser. If he dosen’t want the car, he can just say so. Anyway, sorry. Washed the pontiacs after the caddy. Oh, and if any genuinely-interested, responsible person is looking for a very nice, recent Caddy. Click my name.

Sunday was uneventful, but today, Monday, instead of actually enjoying it, I drove to Smyrna, DE to change out the front struts on my sister’s ’95 Voyager. I never done struts before, just shocks. I wish they were shocks, lol. What a pain in the butt. I did it fine, it was just back-breaking bahl busting and just plain annoying. Of course, results may vary (I hope). I have to do the same on my GPGT. At least I got a free set of coil compressors and $65 for my troubles, excessive UV exposure and plethora of insect bites.

The best part of the weekend came after. For those in the PenJerDel region READ UP: You simply must take a drive down Route 9, starting from where it intersects Route 13. Make sure you have a decent amount of gas, there are no stations along the way. I GUARANTEE YOU, it will be a driving experience like NO OTHER. When I left my sisters, I had the top down on the Firebird. I actually had to go out way of my way to Route 13 using route 6 because I didn’t want to worry about gas. I then drive the 8 miles or so to get back to where routes 6 and 9 intersect, to start my Route 9 cruise (and what I drove was just the northern portion of Route 9).

So, yes the weekend was miserable, but the picturesque and interesting driving on Route 9 made up for it all, well almost.

I prepped my kickpanels for install, laid out my wiring, and finished deadening the real panels in my GTI. Good times… A LOT more to come!

I installed some sexy new EBC d/s rotors =D

I managed to download,convert, and transfer a few episodes of Fifth Gear over to my TV. Not having it directly on the tube is a pain, but for shows like that, it’s worth it!

I rolled my odometer over 100k miles this weekend.
