What Did You Do This Weekend?

Bernard put his AE86 on the dyno:
We finally got my cam gears on and did some mild tuning on Saturday. Just ignore the variances. Each run has a different air/fuel map, but of course I reverted settings back to run five. After the cam gear install, we ended up only advancing the intake side to one degree. Well get a little crazier after the FMIC. The way it stands now, I only need to run 92 octane and my at-temp idle sits at ~850. With 101 octane and aggressive timing/cams, I should easily hit 200 to the wheels. With my hp to weight ratio, that means my little Corolla would be a high 11 second car. However, I think Im content for now with a high-12/low-13s car.

I put a little muffler on a little 90hp sube. I am liking the ae86 (same year). A 50% increase is quite a leap for the cars weight from that time. Nice work.

1. Bought and had a new DUAL head unit installed in my ’95 Firebird Convertible at Best Buy.
-
2. Left there, went to Pep Boys, where I bought 2 pairs of 6.5″ DUAL speakers. Didn’t realize they were the illuminated type until I began the install in my driveway. The project went from being an audio install to being an audio and custom lighting install at that point.
The stock front speakers were 5.25″, but DUALs of the same size wouldn’t have fit in their place anyway, so I removed the useless stock baffles and speakers and mounted the new, larger ones on the door panels instead, allowing for backspace for the more massive magnets. Gonna fabricate a custom sub enclosure and mount (2) 10 inchers in the space between the rear seat backs and the trunk well, very soon.
3. Repaired the driver’s-side door skin (door handle edge). Now the door is finally solid, front and back.
4. Ordered diamond-cut aftermarket headlights for the Firebird Sunday night. Clear corners are being ordered tonite.
No stone will be left unturned. A total exhaust Pacesetter header/performance cat/Flowmaster crossflow mod is the only thing remaining afterward.

I got a new debadged grill in the mail for the tC, so I stared at it a little bit and tried to decide what I’d need before I tore the front bumper back off – any chance I can get it right first try? We’ll find out.
