LO23 Dart on eBay

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

Until the Veyron came along these A-bodies were the fastest production car of all time, running the quarter in 10.5 seconds at 129 mph. The car on eBay now is one of roughly sixty built. None of these Darts can be considered truly "numbers matching" as the ad states because they were shipped without paint, engine, tranny and many other parts, and were then converted by Hurst. Strangely, this particular car seems to be missing the torque boxes–perhaps it was tubbed or back halfed at some point in the past. The auction has lots of cool photos that show some of the funky things particular to these 68 Hemi Darts–like the A100 Dodge van seats and the seat belt window controls. Looks like the seller is hoping to get more than $300k.

I’d rather drive this than a Veyron, being as Veyrons are gay looking. Love that license plate.

After seeing one like that at the Mopar Spring Roundup, I gotta say I’ve got a lot of love for those monsters. They might not be faster than a Veyron, but I bet they’re louder!
