'Cuda Update
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief

Last night I got the straight scoop on the ‘Cuda from my buddy Scott Smith, who wrote last year’s Power Tour story for us. The Cuda was not built or designed by Mopar, it was built by a company in California and is owned by a private individual. The car started life as an SRT8 Charger and was converted to what you see in the pics. The wheelbase is 116 inches and it is running the stock 6.1 Hemi. There is a ton of carbon fiber in this thing and the car was crazy expensive to build. At this time Mopar has no plans to produce the car. I’d heard about it last week cause it had been spotted at the Playboy Mansion.

I think MOPAR is sitting on the CUDA thing cause they already have retro-offerings that are new. If they wait and the retro trend has a decent lifespan, they could benefit more by offering the CUDA later to re-ignite interest and sales.

I’m 54 years old, and I remember the old cuda’s. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they would start production on these for individual sale. I know plenty of people who would love to own one.C’mon you guys, you know you would sell these cars if they were available. What’s the hold up?
