Mercules: No Amateur Job

By Jen

Editor

How’s this for on-the-job training: Aussie newcomer Bruno Gianoncelli, a plasterer by trade, learned to weld while building this 1950 Mercury into the radical all-metal custom sled that it is today. Gianocelli found the car in Perth, Australia, a rusted-out basketcase. He built a supercharged 6.8L Ford V10 for it, took 4 inches out of the roof, elongated the trunk, sculpted a unique front clip to accommodate a pair of Mercedes E-Class headlights, fabbed suicide doors, and shaved everything. The result is "Mercules," a mythic custom rod if there ever was one.

John Gilbert never received the credit for fabricating an awesome work of art!! He is the real craftsman/fabricator on this project.

I have collaborated with him and a builder on a new project. Stay tuned for future posts.

I know of the car personally also and all those others involved, that Bruno neglects to mention or give credit to in the public domain.
Bruno GIVE credit where its due, and do the right thing!!!!!
Get off your ego trip and salute thouse that did the work for you.

If cars had emotions I’m sure this one would be the happiest anywhere. This guy must be a Savant, ’cause this is far far beyond what your average plasterer would do, I think.

I figured most just went and got plastered after work.
