Tartan Racing Wins DARPA Urban Challenge

Tartan Racing, a joint effort between Carnegie Mellon and GM, won the $2 million dollar grand prize in this weekend’s DARPA Urban Challenge. The team’s Chevy Tahoe beat ten other robot-driven contenders around a 60 mile course in an abandoned military base Victorville, California, where the top speed was limited to 30 mph.
