Man Attempts To Shoot Nut Off

A 66 year old man apparently got frustrated trying to remove a lug nut on the wheel of his Lincoln Continental, so he got out his shotgun and blasted it with double-ought buckshot. The man’s legs were "peppered from his feet to his mid-abdomen with pellets, pieces of the wheel and other debris." He was rushed to the Tacoma General Hospital, where his injuries were listed as "severe but not life-threatening." It is unclear whether or not the stubborn lug nut was removed. First, I would of suggested to him that he lower the jack enough that the wheels are all touching the ground before loosening the bolts. Then, I wondered if each of the other lugnuts took more or less than 1 hour each.

If he were smart, he would have somehow shielded himself from the ricochet before he shot at the lug nut, or just resort to the ol’ standard for things that cause frustration… a 10 lb. sledgehammer (my favorite)

That takes more than a genius. It takes someone completely different than anyone else. Only one brain is all it took to think up an amazing way to try and remove a wheel like that. Im proud to be from a country where shotguns are used for more than sitting on a deck with a rocking chair, shooting shells at your brother for screwing your sister.
