Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the LA Auto Show
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Well, I know you guys have an opinion about this new RWD Hyundai, which, apparently, has a name–"Genesis." Our buddies at Road & Track snapped some photos of the Genesis Coupe at the LA Auto Show and shot some video. Apparently this is not a replacement for the Tiburon, as that FWD coupe is going to stick around. Hyundai claims the Genesis Coupe will "deliver a driving experience that challenges cars like the Infiniti G37, at prices more like a Mitsubishi Eclipse." More over at Road & Track.

Personally, I love it. I’m willing to give Hyundai the chance with this one, a chance to prove itself a worthy competitor. I love the lines, except for the front nose being a little too “Drawn out” or stretched, and I agree with Jake’s comment about the bumper scoops, Ew. But other than that, I want one..

I wonder if it has ultra-cheap looking finishes in the interior, like the Tiburon

This car does not have the classic elegant lines to be a top seller. They will have to soften the curves to be sellable in the production model. Bit disappointed cause they did a good work with all other models.

I like this offering from Hyundai a lot. I’m excited to see what kind of aftermarket parts will start showing up soon after this line launches. Maybe then, Hyundai will start getting at least a little respect.

I dig the headlights, but those front bumper scoops are ugly as hell.
