Best of SEMA: Hi-Risers
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief

It was pretty easy to narrow it down to five hi-risers, because, well, there weren’t too many at SEMA. But those that were there made a big impression. So here are the five for today’s vote: the ’71 Riviera in the MHT booth, the ’72 Skylark vert in the DUB booth, the Rides ’85 Caprice, King of the Street’s ’89 Caprice, and the crazy Cadillac Limo. So take a look and then vote for your favorite. You can see more pics of these hi-risers over in the SEMA 2007 group page.

Not a big fan of lifting it too far off the ground..but these old cars on big rims definitely make all your girls look.. If u have the money why not flaunt it.. Not everyone that owns one of these vehicles is broke and lives in the hood.. Most of these people have their own house and have a great job. As in my case.. Spend your money on what you like.. Im a fan of all cars.. Most of the people that hate are broke and envy what the other has…

Cellonedirect.com?
$30,000 Rims seems like a massive waste of money, no matter how you look at it. They are obscenely huge, and while they look more at home on SUV’s, they look like toys on these lackluster old cars that they are put on. I don’t care so much that the cars are being lifted (although I do think it looks terrible, and is certainly one of the worst automotive trends since neon and fart cans…)It annoys me that everyone in town that has one pretends to be a “tru Gansta”. I’ve seen people with plenty of money buy an old Cadillac or other boxy looking thing, put bags and chrome on it, and be gangsta… what is the fascination with trying to emulate people who never advance very far in society, have the utmost disrespect for the law, and do drugs like its nobody’s business?

I would never get on, but I think they’re pretty cool. i definitely favor some of the other cars at SEMA. I’ve been looking at a lot of them on the SEMA Insider website. All I can say is I wish I could have gone!

I thought the one at ASANTI was the best HI-RISER, but the clear 30″ were cool too. By the way i see that we still get so many positive comments by all the members here about HI-RISERS lol.
They will figure out something else to hate eventually.
Keep doing your thang though love to see the creativity here.
