What Did You Do This Weekend?
By John

Over the weekend, my buddy Jamie and his parents invited me to go out on their boat. I’d sat around and drank on the vessel many times, so I was stoked to actually get to be on it while underway. Unfortunately, she started overheating just as we left the marina, prompting Jamie and I to climb below deck and look for the source of the problem. It turns out one of the coolant hoses had ruptured, and while we didn’t get to do much boating, we did manage to limp back to port without causing any real damage. What did you do this weekend?

I stopped by my mechanic’s shop to see how things were going with my ’95 Firebird. There apparently was an oil leak and exhaust leak, alsoit was up for PA inspection.

He has been overloaded, and I handed over the car anyway because I figured it would be expensive to get everything done, and it would take perhaps a couple paychecks to cover the cost.

Well, I finally got an idea of how much everything will cost today. About $1,000. This includes replacement of all gaskets on the topside of the engine including the exhaust leak, new rear brake cylinders/linings, cleaning all the oil off the undercarriage and cat.
-
I have to wait till the 6th of December till I can finish paying him for the work and get the car back, but when I do it’ll be PERFECT and ready for some final mods. Can you say Flowmaster.

My wife told me I should sell it because 3 cars will be too expensive. She should know better than to tell me to sell the Firebird. Why fix EVERYTHING (even some crap I didn’t know was bad) only to sell it to someone else? Screw that. It’ll be fixed and I’M gonna be enjoying it.
