Dude, if I could afford one of those I wouldn't be driving slow. I can promise you that. The only reason you would buy a car like this is to do exactly what the guys in the video did(drive it fast). 219 is pretty impressive on any road. I'd definately do it myself if I had a car that could do it and a road to do it on.

haha, i drive down that stretch of the 202 pretty much every day on the way to work, and it's dead during the day. obviously it's even more so deep into the night. i always wanted somebody like that to fly by me, in either direction, just to experience it...

as far as legality goes, i think the whole 'speed camera' argument goes into effect here. if he isn't caught in the act by an agent of the law, there really isn't much they can do, other than keep a watchful eye on the guy :)

Here's my take on the 219 mph video... This Lambo owner and a few friends decided to go and try to beat some speed record of thier own in this car. So they went way in the middle of the night to a rather straight flat area in the roadway that had a onramp/offramp that was closed so they didn't have to deal with much traffic. In the video it was mentioned that he could've gone faster during the 214 run had there not been a car in front of them. From that we can assume the roadway he's on is NOT closed. I want to quote Car Domain on even thier take for the viewing audience on this clip. "First, let me say I don't think anyone should do this." Also, "Record or not, if this dude is ever identified, this footage will definitely earn him some felony charges." Even I myself have been caught doing way too fast on a public road. I feel stupid now, even though I was getting a rush back then. I'm older and hopefully wiser in saying that anybody that wants to go fast should truthfully do it at a local dragway or closed circuit course that has standby emergency crews in case something does go terribly wrong. This video is definitely missing the "Do not try this at home" messege. I urge everyone to enjoy this film, but be responsible for your own actions. Thank you.

I don't care if it happened on a street - it was in America. Doesn't affect me. It was also the middle of the night - the safest time to do this. It was only irresponsible if there was other traffic with a chance of moving out of its lane. Speed limits are for those with crappy Hyundais who don't indicate changing lanes etc. - i.e. the lowest common denominator. Anyway, whoever said 'at least he didn't do it in peak hour' - there's such things as traffic jams. Usually this involves traffic being stopped or moving slowly. Try going this fast with stopped traffic - I dare you. And area - get off this site. If you don't believe in having fun in a car - get lost. Go to some place that doesn't like cars... how about Antarctica. Join the penguin's pedestrian council there or something. In other words, GET STUFFED!!!

area, there are plenty of videos such as this all over the internet. so by constantly posting against this video, you're wasting your time. watching someone else doing a stupid act is one thing, but i will say that "most" people have enough common sense to not do something like this where it would put both themselves and bystanders in any form of danger. there's nothing you can say or do that will change anyones mind of how they're going to live/end their life. if they do something stupid and attempt this, oh well, nobodys falt but their own. and yes, things like this should only be attempted on a track. (we all know this though)

If you stop the video at the :30 mark and look in the upper right corner of the screen, you will see he driving on a "Closed" roadway. The cars he is passing are the other guys who came out to film -- there are many more than the 2 guys you see in front of the camera.

When he drives past the camera on the road, the revs don't sound high enough to be near the 8000 limit -- he probably was nearer to 100mph when drove by. The low stationary prespective of the camera, at night, depicts great speed when it doesn't "sound" fast.

It appears from from the before and after odometer readings, that this little adventure pulled 81.1 miles off the warranty. With driving to and from the "Closed" roadway, I guessing it's about 60 miles of roadwork -- probably 30 miles out and back.

For all those you said "take it to the track"...you should understand that this lambo won't reach it's top speed of 219 at the track...it's not a funny car...
Even though I think this should have been done at an airstrip or at that "never-ending" flat/wide strip (actual name slipped my mind)...where those ppl max out their cars(sometimes featured on SPEED), I still think is was a sick video...
There were no hard turns, nor was there any traffic on the road...all I saw was 1 or 2 cars in the right lane, and not only did he stay in the middle lane, he also slowed down when he saw another car up ahead...
The cops wouldn't charge him, just from looking seing the this video...
Lastly, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO COPY THE ACTIONS OF THE GUY IN THE VIDEO...YOU MIGHT NOT BE SO LUCKY...

The first thing is the video is taken at night, so he is overdriving his lights, but traffic is light, non-exsistant on his side, and he has several people helping him, so I would assume that means radios and the like, so how much real danger is there, other for him and his crew. There is simply no where to drive a car like this at real speed legally, even if you rent a racetrack, as we tend to sue everyone, which has ruined it for everyone. So whats left???? Well this is a great example. Everyone wants to be protected but wants to do extreem acts, cant have it both ways people! Now how does one go about meeting this dude? (I just want to drive his car!)
