Pakistani-Style Bling

Apparently, the ornate decoration of trucks and busses has become something of a one-upmanship contest in Pakistan. According to Kevin Kelly, even the most utilitarian people-movers and cargo-haulers are done up in a "riot of color" and sculpture, some of them even incorporating elaborate light displays worthy of a Vegas casino. Something about them reminds me of those painted and costumed royal elephants from places like India and Thailand. I wonder if these gaudy trucks are the logical evolutionary extension? Check out this gallery for more pics.
