VW recently announced the launch of a new racing series in the US: The Jetta TDI Cup. This is the first all-diesel powered car racing series, and it’ll feature the new TDI Jetta equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine. The car will pack 170hp, almost 300 lb-ft of torque, the amazing automatic DSG transmission, ABS racing brakes, a fully independent racing suspension, and a special driver’s side airbag. To help promote the launch, the the VWoA Motorsport Board is looking for 40 drivers (30 drivers, 10 backup) between the ages of 16-26 to participate in the series—and they mean business. After each race, the winner will walk with $1500, and the Series Point Champion will nab a cool hundred grand. As if that wasn’t enough, if the Series Champ is selected for a professional Motorsport series within six months, the prize is upped to $250,000. What an incredible opportunity! Think you got what it takes? Then head on over to VW.com to and sign up!

This is going to be an awesome series, I’ve been selected as one of the drivers to go out to Phoenix, AZ for the final driver selection.

I wish I could say the only thing keeping me out of the hunt is my age – unfortunately I’m sure my lack of skillz has something to do with it too ;)
