Dutch Coach-Builder Considers Ferrari Wagon Conversion
By Jen

While we’ve been (ahem) "horsing around" this week with rumors of an upcoming Ferrari SUV or crossover, it turns out that a long-roof Ferrari isn’t in fact that far-fetched a possibility. Vandenbrink Design, a coach-builder in the Netherlands that specializes in high-dollar conversions of ultra-exclusive exotics, reportedly has a wagon version of Ferrari’s 612 Scaglietti in the works. Named the Shooting Break, this ultra-hot wagon will likely be powered by a tweaked version of the 739 hp Enzo V12. Personally I think it could be kind of hot if Vandenbrink offered a funeral-coach package with solid rear panels and landau bars; it’d surely give even the Harold and Maude Jag-hearse a run for its money. Well, which Ferrari concept would you drive: the SUV we ran on Monday, or this sleeker, super-powered wagon?

Why not just buy a SS Trailblazer or Grand Cherokee SRT8, maybe the Porsche SUV? It looks ugly, I wouldn’t buy one.

At this point I think ferrari can do what ever they want. All I have to say is it will be the fastest production 3 door arround.

I think this whole sport wagon thing started with the Mazda Protege5. Ever since, every manufacturer made a sporty wagon to gain on the market. Funny how wagons are used to associate with grannies and seen as “uncool”. Now even Ferrari is riding on the band”wagon”.

this isn’t the first ferrari wagon, years ago there was a 456 venice built for the sultan of brunai. super wagons are hot, I like the bimer and MB wagons, love the rs6 avant from audi, and love the is300 sportcross; but a ferrari wagon as hot as it is, is just wrong.

Its an interesting idea. If I was a Ferrari fan and had the money to throw around, I would consider it. Its like the Ferrari version of the Greenwood Corvette Sportwagon, a conversion kit that used to be sold by Greenwood, a Corvette tuning company, that turned C3 Corvettes into wagons. Actually, this Ferrari looks a lot a Sportwagon..

It’s pretty sweet looking. I’d take it over a ferrari SUV any day. Reminds me a bit of the Volvo P1800 wagons.

Probably not something I’d run out and buy, but the thing is pretty sweet looking. Its different and I bet they won’t make many, making it a rare car that could fetch a good buck on Barret Jackson in the years to come.

Looking at the additional side-view picture provided by Michiel van den Brink, I’d say this is definitely not a wagon.

I see the word “wagon” being thrown around, but this really hasn’t the feel of being a wagon at all. It’s more like a 2 door hatch. Probably no seats in rear so it’s a disproportional hatchback.

If they will be adding seats in the rear, then I guess I’d reluctantly use the term “wagon”

Well we know one company thats going to lose their shirt. Is there really a market for a wagon Ferrari ? Most of the guys who by these 250,000 dollar falice enlargers want nothing to do with sedans let alone wagons.

Hi.
The Enzo engine mentioned in your article is not an option for this 612 Shooting Break.
This car will use its standard V12.
Power upgrades are an opton, but no Enzo power.
Here’s a better and more recent rendering of our Coachbuild project.
