NAIAS 2008: Striking Matte Gallardo

By John

Editor

Matte-finish cars were all over SEMA last year, and Lambo isn’t letting this hottest of trends pass them by. The Gallardo below is painted in Marrone Apus, which is apparently Italian for:

"An elegant shade halfway between brown and black, [which] gives off exquisite golden reflections in the sunlight due to a pigment able to imbue the paint with an iridescent look."

And God, does it look awesome. I think it gives the Italian Stallion kind of a military black-ops feel, and I dig it big time. Of course, the Murcilago finished in Blu Cepheus is pretty sick to, although if I had the opportunity to own a Lambo, I wouldn’t care what color it was. At all. Check out more pics and read the full press release over at Winding Road.

Yeah. I know what Matte is and that rat rods are not glossy… it was just a complete surprise seeing a Pasta Rocket not in gloss. It’s kinda like seeing a bride wearing camoflage.

I guess the color is nice, but the matte? looks like crap on that car.
