Re: the Faux Pas… The Beetle (original) only sold 25,000,000 units? I’m kind of surprised because that basic model was in production for something like 60 years.

While what he said is hard for Americans and others to stomach, objectively, it’s factual, although Ferdinand Porsche deserves more credit than Hitler because if the Beetle wasn’t designed well enough it wouldn’t have been produced for 60 years.

I doubt very much that any other car will break that record or even come close. With long-lived models, all I can come up with is the Wagoneer/Pioneer/Cherokee (1984-1997), and the Checker Marathon but maybe the Morris Oxford has a chance… are they still being built?
