Extreme Measures To Bring Renault Home

By Austin

My buddy recently decided to improve his car collection by selling off a couple of his rides. So his ‘78 Renault LeCar and his ‘74 Renault 12 went up on eBay. He got the rare 12 for free, and the gas in its tank is older than he is—it hasn’t been filled since ‘85!—but it runs nonetheless, and it sold to a French gentleman who plans to have it imported (returned?) to France. This poor guy is going to end up shelling out nearly three grand for the trans-Atlantic shipping on this 300-dollar eBay "bargain," and that’s not until after he’s paid to have hauled from Montana to an East-Coast port. No word as to why he wanted the car so bad, but through our translation program’s garbled interpretations of his emails, we’ve been able to gather that he’s particularly interested in the air conditioning system. Can’t you get factory air in France?

Is he sure the guy isn’t from Nigeria. He may tell you that you have a relative that died that has a forture to leave to you because you are the first next of kin he could find.
Just make sure the payment clears before the car moves.

Wow… the Le Car? i guess it’s extremely rare now. Most kept outside probably have long since oxydized completely.
