Dave’s Maserati Looks Like It Could Go 185

I always thought the Bora was the baddest Maserati of all. It was Maserati’s first try at a mid-engine layout, and I’d say they pretty much nailed it. Citron had a controlling interest in Maserati at the time, so the car has hydraulic brakes, headlights, seat height adjustment and pedals. Dave has owned his car for over ten years and says it’s a blast to drive. I don’t know if he’s had it up to 185 (the claimed top speed for the Bora was 165) but it sure looks like it could go that fast.

A good friend of mine, Her father just purchased one of these out of Florida for 28,000 dollars. Its now his 3rd in what soon will be a much larger collection of Maseratis. I know he has a 2004 Spyder, I believe he said it was a 40th anniversery ? The other one is largly unknown I guess. It was an all aluminum race car prototype that he got from another car collection. Crazy money. Some where in the 1957 vintage. He a computer guy mabey I’ll convince him to make a page.

Nice car.
I clearly remember seeing a yellow Maserati Bora in the mid-70’s when I was a kid.
It was the most amazing car I thought I’d ever seen.
I saved my pennies, and bought a RC toy version around ‘77 or ‘78.
I was totally awestruck then, and I still am.
Just a beautiful car.
