Japanese Fugitive Goes Big!

By John

You know that car chase at the end of the Blues Brothers? The one where like 100 cops try to catch Elmo and Jake? Well, last week in Osaka, some guy made that hilarious crash session look like an exercise in comedic restraint. His name hasn’t been released, so I’ll just refer to him as the dude who eluded 2,240 cops, 460 police cars and a chopper for two hours. It’s a bit of a mouthful, but according this Japan Today article, it’s accurate. They didn’t mange to take him into custody until he crashed into a bridge! Wow.

It’s 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.

The “Blues Brothers” was to chases as “the Princess Bride” was to sword fights. Great entertainment.
