VW Polo or Mazda2: Which Would You Choose?

The VW should replace the Rabbit here in Canada, the 2 is just way to ugly.

I honestly do not see any straight guys driving either one of these.

hmmm.. a ford or VW, that get roughly the same gas mileage and have the same space and crash test rating. think id hit either one, id have to test drive it first. and they are superminis.

i think that the Mazda 2 would be the better choice because i mean we already have some sweet v-dub’s like the R32 and the GTI

Hey i realy think they should bring the Mazda 2, imagine the mazda 2 tuned by mazdaspeed…. hell yea! you will have a very fast small hatch. and beside the mazda 2 will be alot cheaper to by, because VW car are more expence, sow if you get the Mazda 2 you will have more cash left to upgrade you mazda 2, if you get the VW Polo thats it no more left over cash to upgrade…. and most likely mazda2 will be fully upgrade by most japanese after market tuners companies. think about it you will see that the Mazda2 will be the Best option to by and easy upgrade!

mazda hands down. Its styled better, and i think the VW looks too much like older models

My choice? Mazda 2 hands down. The VW looks like an old model and offers nothing new.

We already have both here in Ireland and having seen them I think the Mazda looks much better. I wouldn’t buy either I’d just get a Golf GT but if I had to choose one I’d go for the Polo as the 1.6 GTI version looks almost as good as the Mazda but is much quicker and more fun to drive!

I work for VW and I’d still take the Mazda. Looks better and probably a hell of a lot cheaper to maintain.

polo has been out in europe for years and has changed little, where that mazda 2 is a brand new car. much more reliable and much better looking than the polo. and Evan! all wheel drive, are you thick? will be front wheel drive with small engine compared to american counterparts so you might be getting a car that does more than 40mpg!!!

if the Mazda runs like the RX-8 then you might as well lock up the VW and send it over but who wants a car thats 0-60 time is 13.5 sec most people could run a qt mile in that time

I’d take the VW. Volkswagens rule.

i’d pick the v-dub. they are vintage and rare, and always unique. Mazda, well, not only associated with Ford, but just plain odd vehicles to work on. The volkwagens are not easy to work on, but, they are not strange for the most part. its a toss up, because i would rather get a versa, if i had to drive a pregnant roller skate.

Mazda2 all the way. It looks like it would be much more willing to go for a spin at autocross than the VW. Of course, it would either have to be the Mazdaspeed variant, or I would turbocharge it.

id take the mazda 2 i like the looks of mazdas more than vw’s

I live in socal and we see the VW on the roads here pretty regularly as its sold just over the boarder (Mexico, for the geographically challenged)

Its not pretty from all angles , but it does have its moments. I would draw a parallel comparson to a 3 beer chick.

My vote is for the Mazda. Besides, I’m biased. Most of my cars are Mazda powered or the chassis was derived from Mazda…. BTW, none cary a Mazda badge.
