V8 Camaro To Be Priced Higher Than Expected?

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

GM is really freaking about the CAFE standards. The’ve axed plans for various RWD cars, and since this means the Camaro won’t be sharing its Zeta platform with a variety of other vehicles, it will be harder to keep costs down, especially for the V8 version. Sounds like good news for the Ford Mustang. Oh, and there is now talk of a hybrid Camaro as well. More at Left Lane News.

How much would you pay for a V8 Camaro?

Mustang GT is only about $25K

So, if GM wants to sell V8 Camaros, they better not be over $30K

…just means it’ll be a couple more years before I buy one used.

For a new V8 Camaro I would pay no more than $40K. Any higher would be approaching a Corvette.
