Monster Garage Series Finale Wagon on eBay
By Jen
Editor
For the final episode of Monster Garage, Jesse James and his team pulled out all the stops to produce this "ultimate old school wagon." The 1954 Ford runs a Corvette LS1 through a manual 6-speed and sits low enough on its fully air-bagged suspension to "squash a cigarette butt." It’s been chopped, sectioned, and frenched to the point where the original silhouette of the car is almost indiscernible, but somehow it all works. Even the flashy fade paint looks right on this low-slung grocery getter. There’s definitely a reserve price, but the seller is emphasizing that it’s not a flawless car, and that its main value is in its status as a historical artifact of automotive TV. I get the feeling he’s willing to let it go for less than you might think. Check it out!

I’d paint it black and fix its ills… keeping the rims and body configuration. Replace center caps of course. That’s about it. That’s one nasty freaking ride. Not daily-driver material. It’s a show car and nothing else. Just occasional use for fun and showing off.

I wouldn’t consider this car because, by the time I got it the way I wanted it, it would lose it’s value as a known TV car…
.
It looks slapped together with little to no planning, IMHO.
.
And I agree, whoever was in charge of taking care of this car, and let the damage occur, should have his lug nuts removed

This car is so far on the way to where so many want it to be, that whoever picks it up will probably find the remainder of what it takes to finish it a downhill run.

I acctually wrote out a whole blog on this thing, but there just to quick for me. This thing has problems. The engine like Evan says, is a joke. Its a junkyard LS1 out of a older Vette. Theres a heavy scratch in the custom paint about the left rear wheel. The fuel cell is exposed in the car for that nice fuel smell. It’s missing center caps as shown in the heading photo. Last but not least in large red text the seller warns you,”PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A OLD CAR – SHE MIGHT BREAK DOWN ON YOU! IT IS AN OLD CAR, AND THEY NEED LOVE ONCE IN AWHILE!”.

Wanna buy it now.

She’s not much to look at under the hood or underneath but, it sure is a pretty machine from the top side…
Be a fun one to have in the collection. Too bad, not enough change in the couch for this one!
