Subie to Make AE86 Replacement?

That’s the rumor anyway, and it seems plausible. The automakers have been swapping spit since Toyota bought shares in Subie, so the next few years might find them graduating from the friends-with-benefits stage. The rise of drifting has only increased the volume of AE86 fans screaming for a replacement, and with Hyundai poised to enter the RWD market with the Genesis Coupe, it seems like a natural time for Toyota to step up to deliver the goods. Check out Motor Authority for more info.

Will the AE86 Return?

I read about this and found it interesting. My favorite subaru was 2wd, given its small design back then, fwd did not matter to me, it was nice either way. I see they mentioned a 1998 cc if it were to be 2wd and rwd. Sounds good. that crazy crank needs to take a load off anyway. maybe toyota can give it a real tranny to boot.
