one reason the tata is so cheap is because it isnt required to meet the emisson and safty standards of the US. And if you’ve ever seen those crazy bastards drive in that country you’ll feel confident that once you flood the roads with these tin cars, half are going to end up looking like crumbled beer cans killing there drivers while the others turn the air in there comerce areas into unbreathable smog. Also the sad quailty of the parts used will make them fail fast, as well as the fact that someone who buys a 2500 car is not going to keep up wih the maintance. It might take a couple years but india’s officials will begin to crack down on these cars, raiseing there standards, makeing the cars go up in price. I heard awhile back that toyota was developing a cheap car as well that would be able to be driven on our roads, with a price tag of about 6k.
