Chicago Auto Show: Suzuki Enters Pickup Market
By John
Editor
Earlier today, Suzuki debuted its new Equator pickup in Chicago. Based on the Nissan Frontier, the truck will be available with four and six cylinder options—good for 151 and 261 horsepower—and is built on a fully boxed frame. While the Equator probably doesn’t have Ford and Chevy worried, it does say a lot about Suzuki’s commitment to having a competitive suite of products here in the States. Recent ads exploiting its prominence in the motorcycle world—where Suzuki is a true powerhouse—also seem to be a smart decision. How long do you think it’ll be before the company is on the same level as big-shots like Honda and Toyota?

Looks like the bastard child of a Frontier and a Tacoma with a hint of Colorado if you ask me…

It looks EXACTLY like a Frontier. They probably would have had a better chance making it a good seller if they had added a little more of their own stylings.

Looks like somebody Rammed a FRONTIER into the back of a 2010 Ford ranger, and they had twenty inch rims on it. But i don’t want to underestimate it, just look at the new S-CLASS hyundai lol.

why not buy a frontier? i would choose the frontier over this unless this is priced cheaper and has more features/options and better fuel milage. or throwin a motor bike with purchase or somthing.
