Fast and the Furious STI

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

The guys at Exhaust Note snagged a bunch of pics of the STI being built for the upcoming The Fast and the Furious 4. Apparently this is the car that will be driven by hero Brian O’Connor (played by Paul Walker). So far the Subie sports a Veilside body kit (bumper, vented hood w/hood scoop, roof spoiler and rear under diffuser) and a full roll cage. We’ll keep you posted. You can see the rest of the pics at Exhaust Note.

Oh, and if you missed our story last week, Rich King Casting is looking for cars in the LA area for the film, so if you live in So Cal and you’ve got a sweet ride, get in touch with these guys immediately for a chance to be in The Fast and the Furious 4.

I personaly think toyota had to much influence in the body of the new STI it looks to lexus like but hey it still has the Subie drivetrain
But also why not put the fastest tuner car in a movie?

BRIAN WOULD NOT BE DRIVING THIS CAR, JUDGING BY HIS PREVOIUS RIDES. THEY WERE ALL BETTER THAN THIS THING. BRING BACK HIS SKYLINE, THAT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER THAN THIS. THIS CAR STINKS WORSE THAN A SACK FULL OF ASSHOLES.

funny all the shit talking that goes on about the new sti.

they’ve already ran it against the new evo, though. you can find videos on youtube. and this car is faster in a straight line, and beats the shit out of the evo x in the slalom.

I’m looking forward to this movie, I loved the first 3 and if you didnt then that is just your opinion. Some of us like car movies. I don’t care if it is a truck, car, import, domestic, lifted, or slammed, I’m a car guy and that is all that matters. I see all the Paul walker shit talking, but seriously, who watched any of these movies for the dialog? If you did, you should just stick with your daytime soap opera’s for that.

hate to be an ass to some of you but yhe new sti 4 door NON-hatchback at the Philadelphia Auto Show in tuner salon that was all done up is very nice so the rest of you can piss of because your cars probobly look like a terd that someone beat the shit out of.

so apparently jordana brewster and michelle rodriguez have signed on to do FF4 also. It will be a prequel to the tokyo drift movie. The plot is paul walker gets out of prison (i guess the feds caught him at the end of 2….even though we didnt see that) and they let him loose to go hunt down this guy who is dealing/transporting heroin into the U.S. He teams up with vince torretto again and yada yada yada something about a skyline(new GT-R). Also there was something mentioned about the guy who played Han being in this too. Super dooper.

My thoughts on this are that paul walker should just give up since he clearly has no talent what-so-ever as you can see from EVERY one of his movies. Other than that the plot should have some quality to it since they have the guy who wrote tokyo drift writing for this also. Just pray to go they dont hire any rapper to be in this….

I don’t mean to be a piss but there is no such this as good taste … Taste is only what someone likes not some general standard . I personally don’t flip on the idea of a subaru but who cares it’s only a movie !

I hear from reputable sources the casting call for the Fast and Furious 4 was yesterday….

Check out some photos of what REALLY showed up…

Fast and Furious 4 Casting Call

They put out the call for American muscle so I submitted the Judge and they sent my pictures in. From all appearances, they only want eye-candy and NOT performance. Why call for American muscle if you really want Frankensteins (and poor ones at that).

The movie producers have totally lost touch with the REAL American street scene…

No wonder these movies are B Grade or worse!

i cant believe they wuld put him in an STi…..especially the UGLY ASS NEW STi!!!!! WTF?!?!?! I mean the new Sti look like a cross between the older civic and a ford focus. I didnt think it was possible to make it any uglier, but i stand corrected with that hideous wing on it. When will the creators of this movie realize that its not about body kits or NAWWWS??? No on ewants to see taht bull shit anymore. Thumbs down for the creastos of F&F for not keeping up with the times and for not putting clean, simple cars that people ACTUALLY like.

That is all.

Why does everyone beak F&F i mean for those of us that are into domestic its a great movie in my mind it kinda gives me ideas and its a great fantasy movie for all of us who like to race. I mean its not a movie for domestic thast for sure so lets leave that outta it im sick of all the domestic fans beaking the movie make a movie of your own not everyone loves to compensate with a V8, now im not raggin on muscle cars i like em and my uncles got a chevelle thats drag ready, but i just think this isnt a movie for muscle cars. Also why is everyone beakin the subie i think a hatchback sti is genius mixes fun and fast with practicality i agree well the front looks like a chrysler vehicle it should still be respected it can kick some ass!

why won’t the fast and the furious just die already. We don’t need another ricer fantasy movie.

i think they should use cars that most of us can afford and tune at the same time not use expensinve cars and put big turbos in them so we can watch the movie and just dream about owning one of them and hopefully they dnt ut the ugly graphics on the cars

Took my van down to the Fast and the Furious 4 show and photo shoot. I had the only van invited. Didn’t see many muscle cars there. Lots of very nice rides there though. Most didn’t get the attention of the producer though. The producer and his crew came back to my van four times so hope I get picked.

Jim

Oh, dammit, they are just gonna wreck some American cars, flash a few smiles, make cheesy references to illicit activity, and the credits will roll. FNF series=FAIL

Like i said, before, I want Paul in the 2f2f skyline, or something like a 350z(i know they over done with in Tokyo) or the new evo(but i like the older evo better) love him to drive the concept cuda that was on here and sold at Barret-Jackson.

i cant understand why they would use such an ugly car they need to get some people that actually have good taste in cars i meen even an old civc hatch would be mor suitable for the movie than this thing and thats not saying much.

Feb 9, 2008 at 2:43 pm

they should have used a new gt-r or the new challenger. a subie? are they getting paid off? specially a hatch…..little effort in thinking it through there!

jeff
Feb 9, 2008 at 1:44 pm

I agree, I’d much rather see a R32 or R33 skyline though. They could also bring back a supra or an rx7 from the first movie! I would watch that. Oh, and not to hurt your feelings, but the lancer Evo is designed from a rally car too! So the (twinturbo??) subie should be just fine for street racing.

jim
Feb 9, 2008 at 10:18 am

paul walker should be driving the new Mitsubishi evo, that is a much better car than the Subaru wrx sti.hell the sti looks like shit now as a hatch back,it was much better as a sedan. In my opinion the new EVO is better suited for a street racing role, than an sti which is based on a rally car.
I’m hopeing that f&f4 doesn’t completely suck,i mean they are onto #4,they have to be running out of story lines.I just hope that they didn’t go all gimmicky and make it some stupid story line.Though it will be nice to see vin diesel and paul walker reprise thier roles as torreto and brian.

The evo x is so much sexier than the new STI. Going from sedan style to a hatchback wagon is a bad move imo.

Oh man, such a hot guy (I’m a girl) should be driving a grandmothers station wagon! Whats with the FNF film makers? They should use A REAL AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR!!! Not some subi. I love the WRX and others of the subi’s but not for a movie like this. I watch FNF for the cars, I don’t want to see this thing! Haha… If I lived in So Cali, I’d enter my truck! They need a few good trucks in that movie. Mix it up!

I thought the new FNF was all muscle car based. Isnt that why stangpede built that red mustang GT in front of that live audience? Id rather been seen driving the GT than the subie station wagon.

Rather see Paul Walker drive the Nissan Skyline from 2fast 2furious in the new movie.
