This Just In: New on the Net

According to AutoBlog, Dubai is home to 20% of the world’s Bugatti Veyron’s. That’s a pretty cool fact. One not so cool fact? It’s also home to wackos who will imprison anyone for anything. Any Western airline that flies there should be ashamed of itself. Here’s the news:

  • Thanks to a new tire from Continental, flats may become a thing of the past. A coating on the inside instantly seals any puncture. Pretty cool. Auto Express
  • The General is going to start selling its used inventory on eBay. Why not? That’s what everyone else does. Jalopnik
  • One former Chrysler analyst thinks Ma Mopar can’t stand on her own two feet. He didn’t mention any potential suitors, but something tells me Mercedes isn’t interested. Automotive News
  • Champ Car and the Indy Racing League and talking again. Will we see them getting back together this year?  Auto Week

I just found this. If you’re interested in the Veyron because it has 1000 horsepower, I found something that makes it look like a go-kart.
-
A 1972 Vauxhall Vectra. Originally it had a 4 cylinder, then went thru a couple other engine swaps. It now has a 9 LITRE, DUAL TURBO setup. It produces 2,200 BHP. You read that right.
-
…and it’s every bit as street legal as a veyron.
-
Oh, and off the line, the veyron dosen’t have a chance. This thing does 0-60 in ONE SECOND.
