Buy It Now: $2.3 Million!!!
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Guy wants $2.3 million for that 442 vert parked between the El Camino and the Nissan. And yep, that’s the best pic he could come up with (and I see no evidence that the car is anything other than a fairly basic 442). But he claims that if you put $25k into this "1 of 2" car you’ll be able to sell it at Barrett-Jackson for $5 million. The eBay listing is filled with a ton of other entertaining gibberish, including the the claim that he’s gonna use the money to get multivitamins to 500 million people in Africa. What a guy.

What a loser!!! You don’t have to be well versed to know this car is not worth that and it’s probably a scam. I always look at two things that determine the collectability of a car, rarity and desirability. My Spirit R/T is rare (only 1 of 98, possibly fewer when you consider it doesn’t have power seats like the others), but that doesn’t mean I can unload it for $2mill. It isn’t a desirable car yet. At some point in the future, I think it will be though, but not soon. A Fox body 5.0 Mustang on the other hand is a desirable car, but there are so many of them out there, they won’t fetch anything special. Cars like the Superbird or Shelby Mustang contain both rarity and desirability, therefore they are worth the prices that are set by supply and demand. Unfortunately, this guy didn’t pay attention in economics 101 or he’s hoping to find someone else just as dumb.

Good thing the pile of bullshi# is figurative, not literal. Otherwise it would be obstructing the view of his entire lot.

if he really wants to help the people in Africa, why doesnt he put the 25k into the car so HE could sell it on Barret-Jackson for 5 million?

If this car is worth even 1/10th what he thinks it is wouldn’t he have it in a secured storage facility? If I had car worth $2.3 mil I wouldn’t leave it sitting in my front yard.
Actually the ‘29 Model A RPU I built is all custom except for the cowl, grille and headlights. The frame and entire body from the doors back I custom made by hand. Does that make it mostly 1 of 1? Should I sell it for $1,850,000?

If you were auctioning off a car for 2.5 mil, wouldn’t you ask for a deposit larger than 500 bucks? Just sayin…

Wow, Thats in Stevensville, MT. My parents live like 10 miles away from there. That guy has a sign up on the highway for his used car dealership. The sign is just a chunk of plywood, with the business name spray painted on it. In fact, a friend of mine used to work for this guy doing computer work. Most of this guy’s collection is a bunch of junk cars IMO.

Nice… the problem with “1 of 2″ is that it has to be a desirable “1 of 2″. If a car is baby shit brown (yes i know my car is brown)sport’n a vynil roof, 3 speed automatic with an AM radio and its a “1 of 2″, chances are its not doing 2.3 mill.

To all people who’s car fits that description, I apoligize, but hopefully you know the point Im making.
